Passengers can check in online for their Qatar Airways flight if they wish. Online check-in opens 48 hours before takeoff and closes 90 minutes before the flight departs. Exceptions to this are flights to and from the United States of America. On these flights, online check-in opens 24 hours before departure rather than 48. Passengers can check in on a mobile or web browser or by using the Qatar Airways app. The passport and visa details of passengers are required for online check-in and accommodation details may also be necessary for some Qatar Airways flights. Passengers can also check in at the airline's airport counters. This option opens 3 hours before a flight departs.

The standard hand luggage allowance on a Qatar Airways flight dictates that passengers may bring 1 piece weighing up to 7 kg for Economy class tickets and 2 pieces with a combined weight of up to 15 kg for Business and First class tickets. Hand luggage dimensions must be less than 50 x 37 x 25 cm, regardless of ticket class.
